Flash groaned as he picked himself up from the ground. Livewire had liquefied a portion of the pavement beneath his feet, probably expecting him to fall in it and be bogged by it. Things didn't go quite as planned, but he still tripped and tumbling at the speed of sound takes it's toll on internal organs. As he winced he thanked the speed force for absorbing most of the blows.

Dragging himself to his feet he looked to Livewire: Kyle had her contained. Good. He could focus on Riot and it seemed he'd only made the situation worse. The crazy could not only absorb his speed force but energy of other kinds as well: even kinetic. Long story short, there was no way this guy was going to be taken out with a punch to the jaw.

He drew breath painfully and just stood, observing the numerous copies of Riot standing around, most with their attention pointed in his direction. Though Wally just panted: he needed a moment to rest. His hypermetabolism had already kicked in and the wounds were beginning to heal. Thirty seconds more and he'd be fighting fit again.

Distract them with smalltalk, he thought. You look weak. Let them revel in it. Appeal to their ego. "How many of you guys are there? How am I supposed to beat you if you just keep coming and coming?"

Livewire looked up and watched as the water-like substance came pummeling down on top of her, Riots, and Flash. Her eyes grew wide, watching as if it were in slow motion, her legs unable to move fast enough before the substance touched her, sending shocks and jitters through her entire body, making her scream with sudden pain and jolts of electricity leaving her body and surrounding her and the others before dying down, leaving the chalk-white vixen crumbled on the ground.

She coughed and sizzled as she tried to move but found herself weak.

"Wait...hksaa...until...dry off.. dead.. all you...dead!" She gasped, shivering from her sudden powerless body as she rolled over onto her knees and began to crawl away.

"Yeah, yeah. When you dry off, feel free to call me, honey. I still think that despite our differences, we could develop a meaningful relationship." Kyle grinned. Still, it wouldn't be bad. Livewire had been dealt with. Now there was the matter of the loony that had sprung up out of nowhere.

The loony that now had a bunch of his clones jumping in the air at him.

Immediately, Ion flew upward, moving up out of their reach. However, one grabbed his foot, and it was then that he felt it. The Ion Power, the combined energies of the Starheart and the Central Power Battery, was being sucked right out of him. As it was a part of his being, he could feel it as it was devoured by the clone. Quickly, he shrugged his foot around to get it off, combined with a construct of a spatula to separate him from his foot.

Okay, so evaluate the situation, Kyle. He can create clones of himself, but he has to have some kind of source to do it. He mentioned feeding off of Livewire's electricity, and then he even wore Wally out, probably from his Speed Force. Then he was eating off of the infinity of the Ion Power.

That was it. It had to be energy. Any and all forms, it didn't matter. It was the catalyst for his reproduction.

"Flash!" Kyle shouted. "Whatever you do, DON'T HIT HIM." Kinetic energy, after all, and when you could punch somebody a thousand times in one second, it would only make a thousand more Riots. Instead, Kyle had another idea.

In Wally's hands, a glowing green pistol was formed in each fist. It would be a familiar shape and design to the Scarlet Speedster: the freezing guns of Captain Cold. Wally knew his rogues better than anybody, and this was his fight.

"Go get 'em."

A few of the Riots cracked their knuckles, some pounded their fists into an open pale palm, almost all had managed a devious grin at the crimson speedster and the green lantern. One spoke to flash then "trying to cater to my ego? buy time?" a army of them lunged at the flash then and another continued "only really works when you've got one villain to distract, and I never was the monologuing type."

It was then that the millions of Riot clones who had been created became the several millions more, the city was now quite literally INFESTED with Riots, all of whom were working together to take these two heroes down. Another much larger wave of Riot made the jump for Kyle, of course since he was almost as strong as the man of steel he could jump with his powerful leg muscles and said duplicates did just that, many launching themselves at Ion and Flash alike, all he needed was one contact with the energy that was Ions and it would be his and this fight would be his. One headed straight at him from behind shouted "TAG! YOUR IT!" his hand outstretching in an attempt to grab and latch to the young man and leech him of his energies.

While this mayhem happened one of the clones approached Livewire. He looked down to her worriedly and spoke "Don't worry honey I'll get you out of here." He scooped her up gently and ran off with her fading into the crowd of Riots and disappearing. He spoke then "Dont you worry my lightning lass I've got you." he licked her cheek from chin to temple with his cartoon like humongous tongue and ran off further, it seemed like the Riots who had robbed the bank they'd gotten away Scott free.

A few Riot had managed to absorb the power generated from things like engines of cars running in the nearby and create more of themselves, one looked at the freeze gun flash had created, and spoke "You expect to put us all on Ice? My name is Legion, for we are many!" A bit of silly biblical allusion for his last name was in fact Legion, and right now he was many.

Riot after Riot leaped at the Flash and he ducked and weaved between them all painfully. They were everywhere and he couldn't lay a finger on them. Things were looking grim. The freeze guns probably wouldn't do much good either: they were based off a tech that utilized cold energy fusion. Chances are Riot could absorb that, too.

"Freeze guns!? What am I supposed to do with freeze guns!?" As he narrowly avoided the enemies trying to pile on top of him he came up with an idea. He looked up into the air to where Ion was hanging. "Try and keep still, GL! I have an idea!"

They piled in from every angle, literally hundreds of them looking to pin the speedster down. Perfect. At the moment it didn't matter how many of them there were, just so long as he managed to avoid them all. He blasted the ice cannons, missing deliberately and building up walls of ice to entrap them inside a six block radius. They were all too hungry for power, too interested in building their numbers to notice otherwise.

With a final thought for Kyle he remembered that his friend could breathe in space. He was relieved, because in a vacuum Riot couldn't.

Flash did what he did best: he ran. Circle after circle the wind began to pick up, cutting violently into the Riots. The enemy could absorb the kinetic energy all he wanted, but without air in his lungs he'd soon be choked out. At these velocities time seemed to stand still for Wally: everything was like a statue. He was literally untouchable.

After his 277th cycle he noticed the Riots being lifted off the ground, each a petrified freeze frame that changed ever so slightly with the next pass. In the middle Kyle hovered above and glowed, his powers automatically defending him from the changing environment.

"Another few thousand laps should do it," he mused. The aching still burned his ribs but he could hardly feel it through the adrenaline rush.

Kyle rolled his eyes. It figures that Wally wouldn't know what to do with them. He had never been the brightest member of the Justice League, but he certainly had an amazing willpower. If he hadn't had his Speed Force ties, he might have even made a good Green Lantern.

"He absorbs energy, bolt head! The freeze gun's freeze the molecules around an object. THERE'S NO ENERGY IN ICE." His words were interrupted by Riot's return. One of them had gotten up on a rooftop and now was leaping upward in a vain attempt to grab at Ion's ankle. He had to agree with the freakishly bald villain: the energy was addictive. He knew better than anybody else.

But it was this same energy that allowed him to turn intangibility just before Riot made contact. The pale hand passed right through his black boot and out of the other side. His glowing white eyes looked down at the duplicate, right in the eyes, as he seemed to hang in the air for just a moment.

"No sequel for you."

As Riot fell to the ground, Kyle turned his attention back to his friend. Wally had started to run in a circle, performing the trademark maneuver of the Flash legacy: the run-really-fast tornado. He was running in circles for a radius of a good few blocks, apparently to make sure he got all of the Riots. Unfortunately, it also shattered virtually all of the windows of the buildings, as well as destroying some smaller ones and putting dents in some higher tenements.

But Kyle could use that to his advantage. Small tendrils of energy wrapped around each part of debris in the tornado, with their thinness making them barely visible. The hundreds of tendrils turned to thousands as it caught the debris. Finally, Ion created a half circle, about the size of the radius of Wally's run. Inside of the scoop, the debris, the glass, the concrete lined it. As a result, the Riots in the air would fall on the debris and not on the energy.

"See ya' 'round." With that, the debris-lined energy scoop shot up into the atmosphere, and soon, it was simply a speck, flying into space.

Livewire's eyes fluttered a moment before they snapped open and looked around. She was bouncing up and down a bit as she was being hulled off by one of the Riot clones. Puckering her lips and slapped him on the head.

"Hey! Clone-Freak. Lemme down! Can't show a girl proper carrying respect don't even try it!" She said as she wiggled off and slumped on a nearby light pole, its light burnt out with no electricity for Livewire to suck off.

She noticed a few Riots had stopped, each holding a bag of moolah. Smirking she stood and straightened herself out, limping a little over to one of them.

"Now, why don't you be a good clone and hand me one of those sacks. Ya know if it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have any money!" She said, rubbing her hand on Riot's bald head for a moment before her eyes caught something in the distance.

"Oh Sh---" She began before jumping out of the way as a Riot clone came tumbling down towards them.

She looked up and saw a large red cyclone in the area she had been in, must have been the Flash. Laughing to herself she stood again.

"Looks like you boys got your hands full. I'll take some cash and be outta your hair." She said, tugging at the bag before looking up at the Riot clone.

"Gimme!"
